Recognition Societies Donor Recognition SocietiesTo recognize our donors, we have
three distinct giving societies. To learn more, please click on a selection below:
Golden Circle ($1000 or
more /year) - Donors who make a minimum annual contribution of $1,000 enter ORT America's Golden Circle. Contributors may earmark their gifts to a specific program or where their generous gift is most needed. It is because
of our many Golden Circle contributors that ORT America can continue to fulfill its annual commitments, ensuring that ORT's 300,000 students and beneficiaries around the world receive a top-quality education. A Golden Circle
contributor may purchase a Golden Circle lapel pin or a ladies Golden Circle pin, bearing her name. Precious stones can be added for subsequent Golden Circle and higher-level gifts.
Diamond Ladders ($5000 or more /year) According to philosopher and Rabbi Moses Maimonides, there are eight levels
of tzedakah. The highest level is giving people the skills to become self-sufficient and the gift of no longer needing charity at all. In tribute to this age-old Jewish perspective on giving, ORT America launched its Diamond
Ladder Campaign which spans eight levels of giving, all characterized by an annual gift of $5,000 or above for a minimum of three years. A Diamond Ladder contributor is awarded a beautiful, custom-designed pendant in the
shape of a ladder. A diamond jewel identifies the giving level, with diamonds added for each new level of giving. The full ladder displays eight jewels. Diamond Ladders may designate their contributions, as well as receive
special naming opportunities and recognition in ORT America's Donor Recognition Report. Invitations to special programs and events bring members face-to-face with ORT dignitaries and students, and special international ORT
missions with exclusive programming give Diamond Ladders first-hand experience with ORT students and teachers.
The 1880 Society - (gifts of $100,000 and above within a three-year period): World ORT established the 1880
Society to mark the occasion of ORT's 125th year. Its mission is to ensuring that ORT continues to provide a world class education for hundreds of thousands of children and adults throughout the world in an increasingly
difficult socio-economic environment. The society was named for the year ORT’s founding fathers - Nikolai Bakst, Samuel Poliakov and Baron Horace de Gunzburg - put their wealth and influence to work improving the lot of
those less fortunate. It is evidence that the spirit of philanthropy that guided ORT’s founders and which has sustained ORT throughout its 130 year history is still as alive and as relevant today. There are three 1880
Society Levels:
- Gold: a life membership in the society, awarded for a contribution of $500,000 or more payable over 1-3 years. It can also be achieved by providing ORT a verifiable, irrevocable planned gift of $1 million or
more.
- Silver: a 3-year term in the society granted to those who pledge a minimum contribution of $250,000 payable over 1-3 years.
- Bronze: a 3-year term in the society granted to those who pledge a minimum contribution of $100,000 to ORT payable over 1-3 years.
Membership in the 1880 Society entitles members to be recognized in a number of unique ways. These include:
- A specially designed medal for members of the 1880 Society, commissioned by the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation. This medal is designed in solid 22ct gold for $500,000 donors, solid silver for
$250,000 donors, and bronze for $100,000 donors. This was created as a symbol of the precious gift you are giving our students, a future.
