Join ORT

We know that there are people across the New York Metro area who believe, as we do, in the importance of quality education; who believe, as we do, in helping others to help themselves and who believe, as we do, in taking positive action to make the world a better place. That's why we've initiated our New York Metropolitan Campaign. To find those people -- people like you.

People who will lead the organization into the future. ORT America is committed to expanding ORT programs, educating more individuals, impacting more communities and continuing to create opportunities for success around the world. Won't you join us?

Support ORT!

When you become an ORT member, you become part of a long tradition of helping people learn to help themselves that goes back 130 years. But the benefits are personal as well. You also become part of the ORT family, which is more than just a vehicle for learning about the program. It also offers a forum for meeting like-minded men and women who are committed to quality education and Jewish community life.

What makes being part of the NY Metro Area ORT network so special?

Sure, the national headquarters is here. But even more special is that this is where ORT in the United States began. Not surprising, really. People around here don't sit around and wait for things to get sorted out. They take action and that's just what Brooklyn residents Louis and Anna Boudin did when they led efforts to establish the original ORT organizations in the United States.

People around here welcome challenges. They can juggle everything the largest metropolitan area in the country can throw at them and still find ways to help others - both at home and around the world. That's what ORT members did in the 1970s, raising funds and supporting programs in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay and Israel at the time as Bramson ORT College was opening in Queens, N.Y.

The people here today are no less energetic, no less committed and no less up for a challenge than previous generations of New Yorkers. With your help, we can create an ORT family second to none - just like the place we call home.

If you'd like to add your name to our Metro Update list, send us your email address and you'll be the first to know about special events, exciting news and receive alerts when site is updated.

In the mean time, we hope you will take the time to explore this site as well as ORT America's main site. We know you'll find the history of the organization as well as the work it does as compelling and moving as we do.
